From their humble beginnings in a small garage in Orange, California, to becoming a global leader in Biotechnology, their journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. 1994: That vision started to materialize in the creation of industry-leading yeast research technologies, that led to the introduction of the EZ Yeast Transformation Kit.
1996: Introduction of the first-ever spin column for plasmid DNA purification, simplifying the workflow for researchers worldwide.
2001: Launch of their groundbreaking Epigenetics product line, empowering scientists to explore the complexities of DNA methylation and chromatin structure.
2006: Inqaba Biotec starts distributing Zymo Research in sub-Saharan Africa and marks Zymo’s first distributor in this region.
2007: Introduced the pellet-free Zyppy plasmid extraction technology, providing researchers with a fast, reliable, and easy-to-use method to obtain high-quality plasmid DNA for their molecular biology experiments.
2011: Direct-Zol RNA technology was introduced, an innovative method for RNA extraction that streamlines the purification process by allowing direct extraction using TRIzol® or similar acid-guanidinium-phenol-based reagents without the need for phase separation, in under 7 minutes.
2012: Double helix Epigenetic Switch Discovery.
2014: Development of DNA/RNA Shield™, a unique preservation solution that stabilizes nucleic acids and pathogens, enhancing the accuracy of downstream applications.
2015: Introduction of the ZymoPURE technology, a plasmid DNA purification kit designed to provide high yields of ultra-pure plasmid DNA in under 20 minutes.
2016: Amazing offering of a complete microbiome portfolio through unbiased microbial profiling and highly reproducible data; the ZymoBIOMICS Microbiomics Solutions.
2017: Epigenetic Aging Clock technology.
2019: NASA adopts DNA/RNA Shield for space missions.
2020: Rapid response to the COVID-19 pandemic with the creation of reliable and efficient tools, contributing to global efforts in testing and research.
2021: DNA/RNA Shield becomes the first 510(k)-cleared transport medium for COVID-19 testing.
