Starting with an idea conceived in 2000, the makings of inqaba biotec as a commercial entity slowly began to take shape around this time 20 years ago. The seed funding for inqaba biotec was secured at the end of 2001 from private investors mainly from Germany, South Africa, and Switzerland.
However, the company would not have been possible without a start-up loan from the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO).
20 years ago, on the 1st April 2002 we occupied our first company premises in 459 Leyds Street, Sunnyside Pretoria, just opposite the Sunnyside police station; a real humble beginning. It took a few months till August 2002, when we officially started doing business.
